Silence and inaction are the death of society

So much of this is so wrong.
"gun shots rang out through the night".

For those of you not in Canada; last night (November 6-7, 2025) 400 healthy ostriches were killed with multiple gun shots by the government agency that inspects food (the ostriches were not food birds). The rationale by the gov't is that because 2 of the flock had the avian flu in 2024, they must all be culled. The ostriches were healthy; they had immunity to the flu and thus it could've been studied to help others; the gov't wouldn't allow for real biological testing at the leading edge lab in Winnipeg; the agency in charge of this, committed abuse on these animals through their lack of care for the last many months and through the painful slaughter that all of the flock had to hear. After numerous legal battles, the Supreme Court did not allow the appeal for the farmers, to allow proper testing of the flock so as to stop the cull. The farmers are now bankrupt without their animals, and of course, with the legal costs.

Why am I sharing this dreadful news?
Those of us that work in this field of helping others and living in 'light' and positivity , should be immune from this, right? We should not put our attention on things that are negative, right?
No.
We must advocate for what we feel is right. Silence and inaction is the death of a healthy society. Calling out what is unjust and evil is necessary.
Life throws curve balls and we witness what we believe to be unjust and evil and just shake our head at the state of it all. We grieve. We wonder what karma we must be paying. We get angry. We protest. We feel hopeless. These human experiences are difficult and unpleasant.
The negativity to avoid
Negativity towards yourself, is debilitating. Agreeing to be a victim of circumstances, is debilitating. This is the negativity to avoid. Be clear on the difference.
Stand tall and firm in what you feel to be true. When it comes from love and your soul is pushing you towards a cause, follow it.
